I LOVE playing rockin' songs on KHITS in the morning 'cause when I'm crankin' up the studio speakers (...and they are SA-weet!)...I visualize you rollin' down the highway 'equally cranked'! I've been up and down the dial in St. Louis since the mid 80's doing news anchor and talk show host gigs on the AM band. On FM I've been "Rockin' Ricky" (still am!), part of Chase and Sanborn , one of the brothers of The Sanborn Brothers,and the music stations ran the gamut, rock, country, oldies, soft rock, smooth jazz...and here at "The Rock Wall of Emmis" where I'm havin' a blast! This place rocks!

Queen Extravaganza Freddie's clone?

This is Marc Martel. He not only looks like Freddie Mercury (he even mentions his 'dirty mustache' at the beginning of this clip), but he also has the vocal range of the late lead singer of Queen. When I watched this 'audition' I started thinking about how this submission has changed this guy's life. You can see from his apartment in the clip that Marc seemed to be living an existence that most of us can relate to, seemingly 'middle class' , nothing spectacular. I wonder if he just thought, "well what the heck, alot of people have complimented me on my Queen thing so I might as well enter this contest and see what happens". The contest was initiated by Queen drummer Roger Taylor who said he feared that too many Queen tribute bands were harming the legacy of the original group (Taylor said many of them were 'cheesey'). ...
