WEEKDAYS 6:00am-10:00am

I LOVE playing rockin' songs on KHITS in the morning 'cause when I'm crankin' up the studio speakers (...and they are SA-weet!)...I visualize you rollin' down the highway 'equally cranked'! I've been up and down the dial in St. Louis since the mid 80's doing news anchor and talk show host gigs on the AM band. On FM I've been "Rockin' Ricky" (still am!), part of Chase and Sanborn , one of the brothers of The Sanborn Brothers, and the music stations ran the gamut, rock, country, oldies, soft rock, smooth jazz...and here at "The Rock Wall of Emmis" where I'm havin' a blast! This place rocks!

Foo Fighting with Fogerty!

Posted 5/17/2013 9:26:00 AM

My morning show partner Todd Morgan recently posted a video of Bob Seger and John Fogerty singing "Who'll Stop The Rain" (look for his blog). Today Fogerty has released another video, this one a 'behind the scenes look' at recording "Fortunate Son" with The Foo Fighters. It's leading up to the May 28th release of Fogerty's duets album "Wrote A Song For Everyone" Fogerty will host a one-night only show to mark the album's release which will be broadcast live on the AXS TV channel on May 28th.

Huey Lewis Interview Part 2 Funny or Die

Posted 5/15/2013 7:33:00 AM

Aside from talking to Huey about the 30th anniversary release this week of the "Sports" album, I asked him about his parody of a scene in the bloody film "American Psycho" starring Christian Bale. Bret Easton Ellis' novel of yuppie excess included an axe murder preceeded by Bale's rant about Huey Lewis and The News' music. Before you watch the Funny or Die video which stars Huey and Weird Al, listen to the interview which ends with the audio set-up to that famous movie scene, it'll give you even more enjoyment when you watch the Funny or Die clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fk15H6PjBis

Huey Lewis Interview Part 1

Posted 5/14/2013 6:34:00 AM

Huey Lewis and The News are coming to St. Louis. Lewis talks to me about the 30th anniversary edition of the album "Sports" which hits stores today. It is a two-disc offering, the original album has been remastered. When Lewis and The News play here on June 22nd at The River City Casino, the band plans to play the "Sports" album in its entirety along with choice hits from "Fore", "Small World" and "Picture This".

David Bowie classic recorded in outer space !

Posted 5/13/2013 7:02:00 AM

Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield has been commander of the International Space Station for the past five months.  But he's also a musician. Well, today he's finally heading back to Earth.  But first he made this video. It's a cover of David Bowie's "Space Oddity" . . . with some of the lyrics changed, so it's not all about being STRANDED in space. He shot it entirely on the Space Station.
