WEEKDAYS 6:00am-10:00am

I LOVE playing rockin' songs on KHITS in the morning 'cause when I'm crankin' up the studio speakers (...and they are SA-weet!)...I visualize you rollin' down the highway 'equally cranked'! I've been up and down the dial in St. Louis since the mid 80's doing news anchor and talk show host gigs on the AM band. On FM I've been "Rockin' Ricky" (still am!), part of Chase and Sanborn , one of the brothers of The Sanborn Brothers,and the music stations ran the gamut, rock, country, oldies, soft rock, smooth jazz...and here at "The Rock Wall of Emmis" where I'm havin' a blast! This place rocks!

Stones Fix in Six !
Posted 12/7/2012 6:51:00 AM

6 daze until I'm in the house in New jersey to x-perience another Rolling Stones concert, but I've been 'pre-show prepping' by watching various vids of the band, The newer ones I've seen are "Crossfire Hurricane" "Muddy Waters and The Rolling Stones:Live at the Checkerboard in Chicago 1981" and I recently re-watched "The Rolling Stones To The Max" which chronicles the Steel Wheels tour. I have yet to see the newly released "Charlie Is My Darling". Today I'm going to the HiPointe to see a new movie called "Not Fade Away". Here's the scoop on that;

The movie is called "Not Fade Away", a nod to the early reworking of the Buddy Holly song by The Rolling Stones. The trailer features "Parachute Woman" from 'Beggar's Banquet' and the synopsis of the flick further connects The Stones to The Sopranos creator's vision. Synopsis: Its 1964. The Rolling Stones appear on television, and three best friends from the suburbs of New Jersey decide to form a rock band.    Director David Chase calls on his some of his 'good fellas' to help him out, James Gandolfini plays the main character's dad and the music is under the supervision of Steve Van Zandt. As movie critic Ben Kramer says in his review on IMDb;  "Repeatedly watching, with the characters, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and Buddy Holly perform on a small black and white TV, I was sent back into the age of drugs, sex, and rock and roll. The band's original songs were probably the highlight of the film." You can read Kramer's review and learn more about the film here; www.imdb.to/fhK32g
