DAVID BOWIE'S WIFE HINTS AT UPCOMING TOUR

3/14/2013

Will David Bowie hit the road again, or not? According to Jam! Showbiz, Bowie, who's just broken a nearly-decade long silence with his latest studio set, The Next Day, has reportedly been on the fence about returning to the road. Bowie's supermodel wife Iman might've let the cat out of the bag, telling Grazia Magazine, that she and the couple's daughter Alexandria would not be joining Bowie on the road, explaining, "We have a 12-year-old in school, so we are stuck, we can't travel. Our schedule is around her, so I don't know. We'll have to go visit him, but we won't be on tour with him because she's in school."

Bowie's longtime producer, Tony Visconti, had previously dashed fans' hopes for a road trek, telling, NME: "He's fairly adamant he's never gonna perform live again. . . One of the guys would say, 'Boy, how are we gonna do all this live?' and David said, 'We're not.' He made a point of saying that all the time."

When we caught up with David Bowie during his 2003-2004 tour behind his last album, Reality, he seemed extremely positive regarding the importance of hitting the road behind a new album: "I'm eyes wide open, and know that in this very tough marketplace, you've gotta sell the album, and, y'know, I'll do virtually whatever's necessary to do that. It's atrociously hard work, that aspect of it. It's even harder when you're an older artist because, y'know, you have to work things in a very different way. A lot of it becomes word of mouth, and fortunately for me, I've been very lucky with that."
