The Who will launch their 17-date 2013 leg of its Quadrophenia & More Tour on January 28th in Anaheim, California. The tour, which is shaping up to be the longest run for the band since their 2006/2007 road trek behind their last album, Endless Wire, will take in a total of 17 shows in just under a month.
Frontman Roger Daltrey was asked if after the U.S. leg wraps up at the end of February, fans can expect to see the Who embarking on a world tour behind Quadrophenia: "One step at a time. America, it's somewhere if you're going to tour anywhere, it's the easiest place in the world to tour. And fabulous audiences. I love the American people, they've been incredibly good to us."
Pete Townshend explained that even without the Who's late co-founders John Entwistle and Keith Moon, he believes that he and Daltrey still embody a powerful creative partnership: "It's not just about the largest numbers, it's about the greatest effectiveness. And I think that, you know, Roger and I together, once the creative work is done, you know, we're a good delivery system (laughs)."
