Tuesday, 5/6 -- Hola, feliz seis de Mayo! Are you, the listener, hung over? JC was out last night celebrating & noticing the young ladies.

To see the Ed Martin press release (containing his bio), clicky.

Who does Chris Duncan know who lets him keep his job? Oh, yeah … We all like Chris, but it’s time for him to go because he’s hurting the team. John thinks that we could get someone good in a trade for Duncan & Reyes. Speaking of baseball, here’s how they are trying to get people to go to Marlins’ games.

Yesterday, a group of influential doctors released a list of guidelines for hospitals to follow in case of a pandemic flu or other healthcare crisis (from CNN).

So if a healthcare disaster hits, which patients have doctors been instructed to deny care (unless they are in the government)?

1.  Anyone older than 85.
2.  People with severe trauma.
3.  Severely burned patients over the age of 60.
4.  People who are severely mentally impaired such as the mentally retarded or those in advanced stages of Alzheimer's.
5.  And people with severe chronic diseases, such as advanced heart failure, lung disease, or diabetes.

I had a dream last night that I was in three sketches on “Saturday Night Live” (one of which I said the vulgar term for feces) & Lorne Michaels thought I was hilarious. JC had a dream that he made a Corvette Stretch Limo for Jay Leno. Laurie & John didn’t have any recent late-night NBC related dreams. (Actually, I didn’t ask John because he wouldn’t know what the “NBC” was – but he is excited about the acrobatic dwarves.)

Ciabatta (literally, “carpet slipper” because of its shape), is an Italian white bread made with wheat flour & yeast. The loaf is somewhat elongated, broad and flattish &, like a slipper and should be somewhat collapsed in the middle. Since the late 1990s it has been popular across Europe and in the United States, and is widely used as sandwich bread. A toasted sandwich made from small loaves of ciabatta is known as a panino (plural panini).

SNL’s Frankenstein Bread Company’s slogan was “Bread. Good.”

Market research has shown that during shaky times, like when the economy is suffering for example, lipstick sales actually increase. According to economists, there are three types of products which increase in sales during hard times: inferior goods (tuna instead of halibut), morale boosters (like going to the movies) & small indulgences (inexpensive treats in lieu of larger buys).

Is the opposite of manipulation called anti-nipulation? (or is it de-nipulation?)

If you’re so inclined to see the drinking water story, then clicky.

Our Mother’s Day daily prize features a pair of tickets to see Thoroughly Modern Millie at Stages St. Louis. Plus, a gift certificate to Merb's Candies for 2 pounds of chocolate-covered strawberries.

The grand prize is for you & two friends to join Laurie Mac for a "Girls Night Out" on Thursday, June 5th! First, you head to Daisy Clover Boutique in Webster Groves, for a "Denim Makeover Package." Then your Jed Limousine driver takes you to Sunset 44 for heavy hors d'oeuvres and cocktails. Then ride to Stages to see Thoroughly Modern Millie, the first show of the Stages 2008 season.

The JoY was “Hot Pockets” by Jim Gaffigan. The 3fA featured more in our series of initialed bands. Today: ARS, GTR & ELO. The Vault was “Incense & Peppermints” by Strawberry Alarm Clock. Finally, Christina Applegate played Veronica Corningstone in Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.
