Wednesday, 4/23 -- Happy day after Earth Day. I hope you, the listener, did your part.

In baseball statistics, slugging percentage (abbreviated SLG) is a popular measure of the power of a hitter. It is calculated as total bases divided by at-bats: where AB is the number of at-bats for a given player, and 1B, 2B, 3B, & HR are the number of singles, doubles, triples, & home runs, respectively. Walks are specifically excluded from this calculation.

JC cut his grass in the dark last evening.

Laurie used the word desalination (or desalinization) during our “climate crisis” discussion. The definition of that noun is: the removal of salt (especially from sea water).

JC wants to get a hybrid, but he doesn’t think enough choices exist.

From Mainichi Daily News: a new Japanese naughty coffee shop seats you at tables with LCD screens that have views up the waitresses' skirts from the hidden cameras in the floors. At this new restaurant in Japan, you can tip the waitress to remove her bra & carry your drink to you between her breasts. If you pay a bit more, then the restaurant will give you a fishing rod so you can lift up the waitresses skirts whenever you want. At another bar, when you buy a drink from the bartender, she'll prop her leg on the bar and there's a mirror that gives you a direct view under her skirt. If you give her more money, then she will sit on top of the bar & spread her legs for thirty seconds so you can stare at her panties. Road trip!

Between 1972 & 1973 Carlos Santana formed a duo with John McLaughlin, guitarist for the Mahavishnu Orchestra. The two shared a spiritual leader in guru Sri Chinmoy, who bestowed upon Carlos the name Devadip, meaning "the eye, the lamp, and the light of God." Devadip Carlos Santana and Mahavishnu John McLaughlin's duo album Love Devotion Surrender was released in June 1973.

Yesterday, the National Insurance Crime Bureau released a list of the Top Ten metropolitan areas for car theft per capita. Overall, car thefts were down 7.4% last year. Here are the ten areas where your car is most likely to get stolen:

10.  Tucson, Arizona
9.  Yakima, Washington
8.  Phoenix / Mesa / Scottsdale, Arizona
7.  Albuquerque, New Mexico
6.  Laredo, Texas
5.  San Francisco / Oakland / Fremont, California
4.  Stockton, California
3.  San Diego / Carlsbad / San Marcos, California
2.  Las Vegas / Paradise, Nevada
1.  Modesto, California

Laurie Mac & I will be having lunch this Thursday at Cyrano’s with our families. Come see us & support Dining Out for Life. Cyrano’s is at 603 East Lockwood, Webster Groves, MO 63119.

JC wants John to find out why the best seats at Busch Stadium don’t have access to the best food in the stadium (club level).

Five Food Safety Myths:
"I can eat cooked food a week later."
"I'll eat around the mold."
"I don't have to put cooked rice or pasta in the fridge."
"I'm going to stay away from seafood because it's more susceptible to food poisoning."
"I just dropped on the floor, so I've got three seconds to eat this piece of food."

Our final Busch Bash Smooshes for this week: Not on purpose & our current SS would be “The Accidental Izturis.” And the movie where John Travolta played an angel & where Josh Hancock’s teammates were waiting for him would be Michael Clayton.

And yes, JC said the “Saint Louis Carls,” instead of “Cardinals.” I like that.

More baseball fun:

The JoY was “The History of Guns” by Michael Moore from Bowling for Columbine (& it was not by Matt Stone & Trey Parker). The F4 were songs that had the same names as films. The Vault was live Lindsey Buckingham performing “Never Going Back Again” from Live at the Bass Performance Hall. Finally, Elvis opened for Shecky Greene in 1956.
