Thursday, 4/03 -- Hello, dear listeners.

I have never woken up & not known in what city I was located. Now, I have awakened not remembering how I got home.

JC needs to see his podiatrist today. But as a precursor to this he (foolishly) asked you, the listener, to diagnose his foot woes. You came up with the following: tendonitis, gout, bursitis, a tumor, Plantar Fasciitis, tarsal tunnel, old age, pain on the ankle-itis, get a wheelchair, don’t wear high heels & ignore it.

JC was test driving hybrids the other day.

Is one more patriotic by driving a hybrid or having flags on one’s car?

One of you guys said that he’d like the hybrid if it looked cooler.

The Cardinals set off fireworks 25 minutes before the game to let people around the stadium know the game’s about to start.

Dave told us about the old wives tale “if it rains on Easter, then it rains for the next eight Sundays.” In his professional career it has rained on Easter four times and one of those times it rained for the next eight Saturdays. Dave is going to Hawaii again next week. JC said Dave goes to Maui like some people go to the grocery store.

It Happens Every Spring (1949) starring Ray Milland & Jean Peters will be on HBO Signature next Monday, April 7th at 7am. Or see it for free at Saint Louis Union Station Friday night April 4th under the train shed at 8:45. For more information, clicky.

We've all heard that we should drink eight glasses of water a day but it turns out that's not necessarily true. A study from the Institute of Medicine found that whether people realize it or not, they already consume between 11 & 16 cups of water a day. That's because 20% of our daily water comes from the food we eat & we get plenty of water from other things like coffee, soda & soup.

We discussed Rick Ankiel, Rico Washington & the Rule 5 Draft (again). I just read from the MLB website so if ya wanna look it up yourself, ya can.

In New York City, single women outnumber single men by more than 210,000.

Speaking of New York, these people should be on Broadway. Here are Laurie & her husband presenting at the Kevin Kline awards Monday evening. Once again, their show (I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change) won an award from Best Direction in a Musical.

Defamer.com has put together a list of the five Best butts in Hollywood. Not surprisingly, Jessica Biel tops it.

5.)  Kim Kardashian
4.)  Jessica Simpson
3.)  Jennifer Lopez
2.)  Jessica Alba
1.)  Jessica Biel

Professor Daniel Kahneman is a Nobel Prize winner (for economic sciences in 2002) from Germany.  He conducted a study of over 30,000 men and women to find out exactly when they were happiest in their relationship. What Kahneman learned is that falling in love, making plans, & getting married provides a level of stimulation that increases satisfaction levels for both partners. But once the initial excitement is gone & we return to our everyday lives, our interest starts to fade. And after only five years of marriage, happiness levels in most couples plunge.

I’ve been told my car is dirty. So Monday’s “Who’d ya See” might have a trip to a local detailing place.

Orzo is Italian and means "barley." In common usage in the United States, it is understood to mean rice-shaped pasta, slightly smaller than a pine nut. It is frequently used in soups. Despite its rice shape, orzo is not made out of rice but of hard wheat semolina.

Costs for groceries went up 5.1% in the last year.
Bread (is up) 12%
Pasta & Rice 13%
Cheese 15%
Dried beans & peas 17%
Eggs 25% (& it was up 62% from two years ago.
Milk 17%

I’m the only one who drinks milk on The Showgram & that’s because I love me the Rice Chex.

Here are the flavors of Chex:
* Wheat Chex Cereal
* Corn Chex Cereal
* Rice Chex Cereal
* Strawberry Chex Cereal
* Multi-Bran Chex Cereal
* Honey Nut Chex Cereal
* Frosted Mini-Chex Cereal
* Chocolate Chex Cereal
* Chex Morning Party Mix

The reason groceries cost more is because more corn is being used for gas, and less is being used for food. To see the NY Times story, clicky.

To see where JC gets his Sharp Cheddar cheese in Wisconsin, clicky.

Congratulations to Julie & Ryan who welcomed their baby boy yesterday!

The JoY was Daryl Hammond as Chris Matthews on “Hardball” dealing with the steroid issues from “SNL” & included tickets to the Funny Bone. The 3fA featured Paul Simon. The Vault was Paul McCartney’s version on Elvis’ “Just Because.”

Finally, Dave squirted Richard Simmons with a fire extinguisher while Richard was in a turkey costume on the “Late Show.”
