Monday, 3/31 -- Hello, Opening Day fans.

We need to clarify answers to two questions from our "20?3” contest we did for Opening Day tickets. Mark Lamping is still President of the Cardinals for one more day. And Mike Shannon hit the last & first Cardinals home runs in Busch Stadiums I & II. But the tickets are gone and by the time you, the listener, reads this it’ll be too late anyhow.

Lots of baseball stuff today. I could list everything, but then you won’t be surprised next time. But I will let you know that Diamond Cuts: Bottom of the Fifth (Vol. V) is where you can find Sam Bush’s “The Wizard of Oz” (a.k.a. “Hey Ozzie!”).

We had tributes to Harry Caray, Jack Buck, Ozzie Smith, Willie McGee & the 2006 Champions.

John gave us some behind the scenes scoopage: new grass on the field, more signs & some new paint.

If severe weather hits the ballgame, then John would be the first one out the door with a “So long, suckers” faintly heard as he ran from the microphone.

To stop smoking call 800.QuitNow or clicky.

Congratulations to Benton & Rod who welcomed a 21-inch baby over the weekend.

Easily identifiable movie themes: Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Jaws, Gone with the Wind, The Godfather & The Natural. This made JC happy:

More tomorrow. I’m gonna try & go to the game.

The JoY was Greg Warren’s “What’s the Score?” We didn’t do the 3fA or the Vault because of all the baseball stuff. Finally, the grass expert for Field of Dreams was nicknamed “Marquis de Sod.”

Thousands of pallets of green grass were brought in to make the baseball field, but due to the haste in planting because of the shooting schedule, the grass was not able to grow appropriately and died. In order to keep the grass green, the production crew painted it.

Don't Do Anything Stupid,
Carl The Intern
