JC doesn’t understand why people think vinyl is better than digital. (This has to do with record albums not clothing.)
A new study from www.btpodshow.com says it takes 22 dates with different people, three one-night stands & three long-term relationships to find your soul mate.
Here are some interesting stats about finding your future spouse:
25% of people found their soul mate in less than 5 dates.
9% say they needed at least 10 one-night stands before they met their life partner.
The biggest turn-offs for singles on the prowl for a mate: Poor personal hygiene, no sense of humor & having no skills in the sack.
Clive Owen & Natalie Portman were both nominated for Academy Awards for Closer.
The Last Kiss is on Cinemax the morning of March 31st.
According to a recent survey, women who are mildly to moderately depressed have 33% more sex than women who are not.
A new study by BYU found that while a happy marriage is good for your blood pressure, a bad or stressful one is actually worse for your health than if you're single.
Emotionally Unavailable is Bill Burr’s new album.
Here’s a Peep show!
And now Peep Wars!
“Here comes Peter Cottontail / Hoppin' down the bunny trail,
Hippity hoppin', Easter's on its way
Bringin' ev'ry girl and boy / A basketful of Easter joy
Things to make your Easter Bright and gay
He's got jelly beans for Tommy / Colored eggs for sister Sue
There's an orchid for your mommy / And an Easter bonnet too.
“Oh! Here' comes Peter Cottontail / Hoppin' down the bunny trail
Hippity hoppity Happy Easter Day
Look at him hop and listen to him say, ‘Try to do the things you should’
Maybe if you're extra good / He'll roll lots of Easter eggs your way
You'll wake up on Easter morning / And you'll know that he was there
When you find those choc'late bunnies / That he's hiding ev’rywhere,
“Oh! Here' comes Peter Cottontail / Hoppin' down the bunny trail
Hippity hoppity Happy Easter Day.”
The “John’s Not Working” Movie Segment.
Our (JC’s, Laurie’s & my) favorite political movies: The Candidate, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, All the President’s Men, Dave, Bob Roberts, Election, 13 Days, The Good Shepherd, Children of Men, The Great Dictator, Reds, Dr. Zhivago, Lawrence of Arabia, Primary Colors, Wag the Dog, Citizen Kane.
JC would also like to mention The Matchmaker (even if you don’t like Janeane Garofalo).
JC doesn’t begrudge anyone for believing in a religion. He refers to George Carlin’s line: “… religion, at best, at best, is like a lift in your shoe. If you need it for a while, and it makes you walk straight & feel better, fine. But you don't need it forever, or you can become permanently disabled. Religion is like a lift in the shoe, and I say just don't ask me to wear your shoes. And let's not go down and nail lifts onto the natives' feet.”
Speaking of that, the JoY was George Carlin’s “Father Rivera.” The 3fA featured a religious theme from Yvonne Elliman, the Doobie Brothers & Norman Greenbaum (& our Spinks–Philips fight tickets). The Vault was going to be Linda Ronstadt’s “We Need a Whole Lot More of Jesus (& A Lot Less Rock & Roll),” but the CD had a stigmata. So we used George Harrison’s “My Sweet Lord 2000.” Finally, “Later with Bob Costas” started on NBC in 1988 & ran through 1994.
