Wednesday, 3/19 --
Hello & a happy “Spy Wednesday” to you.
John’s not here today. He’s beating up Jim Cramer for giving him bad advice about Bear Stearns.
My first traffic report featured a “water rescue.” And how’s your day going?
JC regaled us with stories from the “Breakfast Club across America.”
Chester, IL (Popeye Museum)
Piedmont, IL (UFO sightings)
St. Joseph, MO (Glore Psychiatric Museum)
Sedalia, MO (State Fair)
Jefferson City (to bug John Ashcroft)
Branson (College of the Ozarks)
Dave went to Key West, Williamsburg, Maine, Santa Fe, South Carolina & South Dakota with “Good Morning America.” Dave is still friends with Dave Hartman, who is now in North Carolina working for The History Channel & public radio.
Paul Henning created The Beverly Hillbillies & had a hand in “Petticoat Junction” & “Green Acres.”
“The Beverly Hillbillies’” Donna Douglas is older than Max Baer, Jr.
Most of those sitcoms were filmed in California, so many Dodgers players were guest stars on many shows. In fact, Dodgers manager (& former member of the “Gashouse Gang”) Leo Durcocher was on the Hillbillies, “Mr. Ed” & "The Munsters."
"Long Distance Call" was “Leave It to Beaver” Episode 193, which aired on June 16th, 1962. Beaver & his friends decide to make a call to California to speak to baseball legend Don Drysdale. They each chip-in a couple of dollars to cover what they think will be the cost of the call, but it turns out to be a little more expensive than they thought.
Scott Spezio, Adam Kennedy & David Eckstein guest starred in “She Spies” featuring Natasha Henstridge while they played for the Angels.
Here’s what JC learned from Oprah yesterday. The side on which a man’s “twig” hangs is in relation to the hanging of the “berries.”
JC recommends In Bruges. Five outta five Corks.
From Forbes: How to subtly suck up to your boss:
1.) Play to their interests.
2.) Make everything seem like it's your boss' idea.
3.) Don't unnecessarily compliment them.
4.) Ask for permission before offering up ideas.
5.) Give your boss what they need.
Do you, the listener, believe that this is “Sex & the City’s” Kristen Davis?

I get to hear her everyday on Noggin’s “Miss Spider’s Sunny Patch Friends.” I’m listening a little differently these days. I’m fact, I think she is performing a microphone check here.

The JoY was “Stairway to Gilligan’s Island” by Little Roger & the Goosebumps. The F4 featured little-played, pretty love songs. The Vault was “It’s Raining Again” by Supertramp. Finally, between marriages, Glenn Close was involved with Woody Harrelson.
