Friday, 3/14 -- Hello & Happy Saint Patrick’s Day Weekend.

So Mark Lamping is leaving the Cardinals. Four different callers used the line: “the writing on the wall.” I just think they hired his replacement a little too quickly.

Dave says Mark & Laurie will be wet tomorrow for their Saint Patrick Day’s parade broadcast from 11am–1pm.

Good days, no parades; rainy days, parades: I guess the Archbishop wins.

Although they make a big deal about it, I usually only go out drinking one night a week. Every Thursday I meet (depending on who shows up) between three & 15 friends I’ve known since I was five.

But this week I also went out Wednesday for a dinner meeting with one of the professional sports teams for whom I work.

JC said I looked a strange shade of white this morning, but I think that’s because I don’t go outside.

How to score free drinks on Saint Pat’s (Worst Case Scenario Guide: College):
1.)  Tell your friends that you're broke.
2.)  Tell a sob story to a stranger.
3.)  Plan an “accident.”
4.)  Gamble.
Here’s the trick JC tried to do – on radio. (It’s him in the video. Really. No, honestly. Ya got me, it’s not.)
5.)  Don't go to a bar.

The RealDoll is a life-size sex doll manufactured by Abyss Creations in San Marcos, California, and sold worldwide. It has a durable, poseable PVC skeleton with steel joints and silicone flesh, which is arguably the state-of-the-art for life-like human body simulation. Prices begin at around US$6,500, with some models costing over US$10,000.

Next weekend is the anniversary of the repeal of Prohibition in the US and Schlafly Bottleworks is doing their annual party. But this Sunday at 2:30pm my 92-year-old grandmother is starring in a play at the Chatillon-DeMenil House titled “The Prohibition Revue.” It’s about how Saint Louis handled those dark times.

And our condolences to the Pollmann Family on the loss of Mark, he was the longtime legendary bartender at the Fox and Hounds Bar at the Cheshire Inn. He will be missed.

The JoY was “Two Gay Irishmen” by Red Peters. The 3fA featured Saint Patty’s Day stuff (Dexy’s Midnight Runners, The Chieftains w/ Roger Daltery, The Coors’ – “Toss the Feathers”). The Vault was “You’ve Got a Friend” by Carole King & friends from the Nicolette Larson Tribute. Finally, Cameron Crowe wrote & his wife, Nancy Wilson, appeared in Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
