Monday, 3/3 -- Welcome to the 4th (& hopefully last) week of the Faux-gram. I can’t tell you, the listener, anything for sure. I’m getting all my info 2nd or 3rd hand. Seriously. (Yes, we are in the communication business.)

Some say I’m a selfish bastard – but not today. Today I am concerned for others. It’s a process. Van Halen have cancelled their past three shows & now word is flying around the World Wide Web of Speculation that the entire rest of the tour will be canceled. Why? Eddie is having, “issues.”

Supposedly, the band is currently in the process of canceling all their hotel reservations for the tour. For now, we have no official word on this. Van Halen is “scheduled” to perform tonight in Dallas and here in Saint Louis on March 30th. If they do come, here’s what you have to “look forward to” from Fort Lauderdale 2 weeks ago.

We talked about feeding our animals peanut butter & milk. John hated the entire conversation: peanut butter (he’ll only eat reduced fat PB), milk & animals.

I will only drink milk out of glass, not plastic. Mark & Laurie will use any kind of utensil (or their fingers) to put PB on bread.

It’s Sleep Awareness Week. See that, Mrs. the Intern? NSAW is a public education, information, and awareness campaign that coincides with the return of Daylight Saving Time, the annual “springing forward" of clocks that can cause Americans to lose an hour of sleep. NSAW kicks off with the Great American Sleep Challenge, an online campaign to help Americans get the most out of their sleep and to teach them about how sleep impacts health, safety, productivity, mood, and relationships. For more, clicky.

"Dap" is the official title of a fist bump.

Kyle McClellan is a local boy trying to make good with your St. Louis Cardinals. He hails from Florissant, Mo., just north of St. Louis, and attended Hazelwood West High School. He was born in 1984.

It’s gonna storm. Here’s how I knew it was going to be bad. Usually Dave’s forecasts are about 40 seconds long, today they were all over a minute. I floated the idea of getting rid of snow on the driveway/walkway by pouring & burning gasoline on it. Once again, we don’t advise this to anyone. I was just curious if it would work or not.

The new Chaifetz (SHAY-fetz) Arena is slated to open in April 2008. The arena will have a seating capacity of over 10,000 and is being built on the Saint Louis University campus at the corner of Laclede & Compton avenues. It will function as a true multi-purpose campus events center, hosting myriad SLU events including men's and women's basketball, volleyball, commencement, cultural events, conferences and conventions. The arena will house the department of athletics' offices as well as a practice facility for the basketball and volleyball teams.

The capacity for assorted events according to the university’s website:
Basketball – 10,000.
Concerts – 10,000, 7,140 or 5,130 depending on stage arraignments.
Wrestling or “In-the-Round” shows– 10,725.
Circus – 8,050.

We announced the 2nd Annual KHITS 96 Trivia Night. It will be Friday, April 18th.

Maybe the 501st can help us again.

We talked about the new Hard Rock Park in South Carolina. Mark once won a round of golf at Myrtle Beach with a 36-stroke lead. John & former Cardinals pitcher (& current broadcaster for the Tampa Bay Rays), Joe Magrane once spotted their wives 100 strokes and barely won the round.

The JoY was “Star Trekkin’” by the Firm (btw Star Wars & “Star Trek” are not the same thing). The 3fA featured Van Morrison. The Vault was “Angel Eyes” by the recently departed Jeff Healey & his Band. Finally, the aforementioned Jeff Healey was in Roadhouse.

Don't Do Anything Stupid,
Carl The Intern
