Hello to all the young & blissfully ignorant folks, like me! I wish I knew what to tell you, but I don’t know anything. Laurie & I are the last to know anything, so don’t e-mail us; we can’t tell you what we don’t know.
According to Dave we are low on snow & ahead on precipitation for the season so far.
Four Corners, USA is where four states (New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado & Utah) meet.
Jethro Tull was named after the 18th-century agriculturist who invented the seed drill.
Exciting news: Poison singer Bret Michaels will be headlining the first night of this year's Mullet-Stock onstage July 10th in Oklahoma. (Mullet-Stock runs from July 10th through the 13th.) Other bands at the “stock” include Krokus, Vixen, L.A. Guns (with Tracii Guns), House of Lords and Warrant (with Jani Lane).
From the Associated Press: In December, a 48-year-old man named Benjamin Lovell went to his bank in New York to make a withdrawal. Last time he checked, he had around $400 in his checking account. So he was pleasantly surprised to see he now had $5.8 million in his account. They had confused Benjamin with another guy by the same exact name who managed the accounts of a property management company. But Benjamin didn't bother to tell anyone about the mistake. Instead he quickly blew through $2.1 million of the $5.8 million. Here's some of what he dropped his money on:
- $8,000 on jewelry for his mistress.
- $36,000 on dental implants.
- $5,000 on vitamins and colonic enemas.
- He lost $500,000 when he bought an investment firm that has apparently already folded.
When the Benjamin Lovell who works for the property management company told the bank someone was spending his company's money, the other Benjamin Lovell got arrested. He's been charged with grand larceny and he could get 25 years in prison.
According to John, olive pits should stay in the olive or else they lose their flavor.
If I’ve been mean to Mark, then I’m sorry. But … en·ti·tled (verb):
1. To give a name or title to.
2. To furnish with a right or claim to something: “The coupon entitles the bearer to a 25 percent savings.” Or “Every citizen is entitled to equal protection under the law.”
And before you, the listener, say number one counts, remember it is a verb. Meaning it is an action of giving a title to something, not how it was incorrectly used this morning. Didn’t we go over this already in one of the earliest Blarrrgs? (webmaster note: yes, we did. And you're still mean.)
And, besides, I’m not perfect, just ask anyone. Laurie finds at least five mistakes in this silly missive every day. Usually, it’s a “that/who” problem. (I just found three mistakes in the Ben Lovell story alone – but that was just a cut & paste.)
I’m sorry I can remember the birthdays of my family & close friends.
We are trying once again to tell John that fish are not really pets. The oldest recorded goldfish lived to be 49 years old, but most household goldfish generally live only six to eight years, due to being kept in captivity.
The JoY was “King of Suede” by “Weird Al” Yankovic. The 3fA featured the Alan Parsons Project (in concert tonight at the casino) & passes to see In Bruges. The Vault was live “10th Avenue Freeze Out” by Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band. Finally, Boston was the biggest selling debut album of all time.
