Monday, 2/04 -- Hello, degenerate gamblers!

Were we cheering for the Giants or against the Patriots?

JC is still taking heat for the following “joke:” “What do the Patriots have in common with JonBenét Ramsey? They both couldn’t make it to 19.”
(crickets).

He apologizes (or as close to an apology as he gets).

“Cheater’s proof” is a karmic occurrence in sports which serves as indisputable evidence that a particular call or non-call (or situation) was totally bogus. The cheater's proof is a mystical occurrence in which the sports gods use their divine powers to negate bad officiating. The most common manifestation of this phenomenon is when a basketball player gets a "superstar call" (in which no significant contact is made but the whistle blows anyway) and then misses one or both of the ensuing free throws.

It’s foggy today. Dave described it as a “cloud on the ground.” So this could not happen today.

If you have an “underdog,” then can you have an “overdog?”

Twenty-four states and American Samoa are scheduled to hold either caucuses or primary elections for one or both parties tomorrow.

If the Patriots (aka, the “cheaters.”) would have scored on their final drive, then I would have won $80. (That’s if I was gambling – which I wasn’t.)

Quitters, losers & wannabes came out to see Mitt at D&B’s.

JC had some choice words for his friends at Ameren. He missed halftime & almost all of the 3rd quarter because his power went off again.

Clicky, to see the USA Today ad meter results.

Local spots during “the big game” yesterday cost advertisers $25k.

Here’s the George Clooney reason for his girlfriend moving in. “Sarah is always with George anyway, so it just makes sense. Plus he likes having her around. She has made him very happy & doesn’t stress him out.”

Rob Pilatus is the deceased member of Milli Vanilli.

There have been numerous volumes of Chicken Soup for the Soul issued. As of January 2006, there were over 105 titles. Many of the books are directed at specific groups of people, e.g. Chicken Soup for the Mother's Soul, Chicken Soup for the Preteen Soul, Chicken Soup for the Prisoner's Soul, Chicken Soup for the Volunteer's Soul, Chicken Soup for the Grandparent's Soul, Chicken Soup for the Ocean Lover's Soul, etc.

Troy Aikman’s sexuality was questioned by Redskins WR Brandon Lloyd & sports commentator, Skip Bayless.

Who’d We See:

Me: Friday – after the hockey game, where I saw our friend Jim Woodcock, I went with K-Hits music director, Favazz & Meredith to the Royale in South City where we hung out with owner Steve Smith. Then we traveled across the street to Courtesy for a slinger.

Saturday – my girls were under the weather so I tried to help around the house (i.e. stayed outta the way). Then I went to another hockey game where I saw some friends, Kieran & Dave, from my high school.

Sunday – over to Dave & Nicole’s house for their big “big game” party.

John: Friday – nothing.
Saturday – Blood Drive & soccer
Sunday – coached his daughter’s basketball team, took another daughter & 1st communion class & watched the game.

Laurie: Has been gone since Wednesday. She went to Chicago to see a 2pm matinee of Jersey Boys (opening April 23rd at the Fox Theatre).
Saturday was the Blood Drive where she saw the Masucci family & George.
On Sunday she watched the Super Bowl. And Laurie’s mother-in-law would like to thank the police for their help with an issue.

JC: First off, a thanks to Ben from Applegate’s & Robert for some gifts they sent.
Friday – Daddy–Daughter Dance with his elder daughter and Bob Costas & his daughter. At his table was a Notre Dame season ticket holder/plane owner. And sitting at the Chase’s coat check room was Rick Majerus.
Saturday – Blood drive. He and Triple C had dinner at Citizen Kane’s in Kirkwood & sat next to Cardinals’ GM John Mozeliak.
Sunday – as previously noted, his power went out making him miss halftime & almost all of the third quarter.

Artists we cringe at hearing: Bee Gees, Thompson Twins & Mariah Carey.

The JoY was Seth & Amy’s “Michael Vick – Really?” from “Saturday Night Live.” The 3fA featured Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers and 5th row Blue Man Group tickets. The Vault was Roger McGuinn doing a live version of “Mr. Tambourine Man.” Finally, Keith knew & sang three Carpenters songs (“Close to You,” “We’ve Only Just Begun” & “Superstar” – written by Leon Russell & butchered in Tommy Boy).
