MC-ing a bridal show is one way to sexually shoot fish in a barrel.
John has a new nickname for JC once he announced his hands were dry, “Cracky-Paws.”
Fish do not actually produce omega-3 fatty acids, but instead accumulate them from either consuming microalgae that produce these fatty acids, as is the case with prey fish like herring and sardines, or, as is the case with fatty predatory fish, by eating prey fish that have accumulated omega-3 fatty acids from microalgae.
Dave says the snow we will get today is just a precursor to Thursday’s storms (a “squall” even – I ain’t your dictionary, look it up!).
The play Laurie performed last year, I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change, is nominated for five Kevin Klein Awards. You, the listener, should have seen it if you didn’t! If you did, then thanks.
In 1971, Mr. Yuk was created by the Pittsburgh Poison Center at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC (University of Pittsburgh Medical Center). The original design was created by Wendy (Courtney) Brown, a grade-school student at a school near Pittsburgh Children's Hospital. As part of a contest held by the poison center, Wendy drew the now-familiar face, along with a stick-figure body that was not included in the finished sticker design. Her design won, and Wendy was compensated for her time and talent with a prize- a tape recorder. Since then, Mr. Yuk has been used to educate children and adults about poison prevention and to promote poison center awareness. In addition, Mr. Yuk has raised awareness that poison centers are available 24 hours-a-day, every day of the year to assist in the management of poisoning emergencies.
JC is very proud of himself for creating the Pre-Wind.
John & I were whispering lyrics from “Joe’s Garage” to each other this morning.
Article Two of the Constitution sets the principal qualifications to be eligible for election as President. A Presidential candidate must:
* Be a natural-born citizen of the United States
* Be at least thirty-five years old
* Have been resident in the United States for at least fourteen years.
Additionally, there are two negative qualifications. Under Article One of the United States Constitution, no Presidential candidate can have previously held the office and been removed by conviction for an impeachable offence. And under the Twenty-Second Amendment, no person who has previously served as President or Acting President for more than six years is eligible for election to the Presidency or to the Vice Presidency. Former Presidents who have served less than six years as President or Acting President, however, remain eligible for the presidency (assuming they were not removed from office by the Congress on a bill of impeachment) for one term only; but their eligibility to serve as Vice President is unlimited, because Amendment XXII only applies to the Presidency.
This traveler to our fair city could be the first person to be a “First Child” with two parents.
JC’s Strom Thurmond impression sounds a lot like Ross Perot.
Thanks Jon Sloane for letting us know about Heather Graham in Killing Me Softly & the names of the Mandrell Sisters (Barbara, Louise & Irlene).
A pull quote (also known as a lift-out quote or a call-out) is a quotation or edited excerpt from an article that is placed in a larger typeface on the same page, serving to lead readers into an article and to highlight a key topic.
Five types of women who men avoid:
5. Obnoxious know-it-alls
4. Gold diggers
3. Too-proud
2. Needy
1. Rebounds
(Where’s “pregnant” on the list?)
From thatsfit.com, one Japanese company hopes that by giving their just dumped employees a day or two off, they can help those bruised hearts and egos mend it just a little faster. Interestingly, younger women only get a day off (only women work at the company), while older women get two. If you're over 30, you get three days off. Not only do they allow employees time to recover from a bad breakup, they also let their employees have two mornings a year to head out and hit the sales.
Waiters nodding their heads during the specials are manipulating you, the listener, into buying the specials. It works 60% of the time.
“It's a Living” was not a success in its first season and was retooled extensively, airing in 1981 under the name “Making a Living.” This incarnation did not catch on either, and the show was canceled after two seasons. Two years later it went into syndication and became a moderate success.

Me: Last week after JC’s party I went to one of the new downtown casinos with our friends, the Dickinsons, JC’s former producer, John-John & the Bowe’s from K-Hits.
This weekend, my family & I visited Laurie at Sage during the Taste of Soulard. Thanks to everyone we saw & hung out with on the Trolley. Yesterday, my daughter had a playdate with the son of another one of JC’s producers, Judy. So it would seem for the past two weeks I could do nothing socially without the help of JC’s current & former producers.
The JoY was Keith Olberman’s Worst Person in the World from last night. The 3fA featured Alice Cooper. The Vault was our Stars on Ice tix. Finally, Hollywood Park is a famous race track in Inglewood, a suburb of Los Angeles. Due to a takeover attempt in 1990 tension was high between board members. A pair of these board members, actor John Forsythe and former Blues owner Harry Ornest, got into a fist fight in one of the luxury boxes during a race.
