Hello & Happy Boxing Day. Look it up: click here.
We are dividing up our best interviews of 2007 into three categories:
Day 1 – Sports Day 2 – Music & Television
Day 3 – Movies.
I know that “Boxing” Day has nothing to do with sports. It was cute play on words.
Today, obviously, was Day 1:
From March: Kevin Hallinan – MLB Security
From January: Peter McLoughlin – Blues CEO
From February: Jerry Rice
From October & last week: Mike Shannon
From March: Al Hrabosky
From July: Joe Buck
From February: Billy Bob Thornton
From April: Bob Costas
From July: Dan McLaughlin
Also, two days ago we had some problems with “one of the Internets.” Monday’s Blarrrg is now available by clicking the “Previous Blarrrg entry” link above.
Here are some of the news stories I tried to read today:
Ramps from Highway 40 to I-270 to Close Tonight (St. Louis, MO) -- The ramps from eastbound Highway 40 to I-270 will close tonight. Crews will shut down the ramps from eastbound Highway 40 to both northbound and southbound I-270 at 7:30 tonight to widen them for increased traffic during the Highway 40 shutdown. The ramps should reopen by 5:30 tomorrow morning.
Christmas Tree Recycling Starts Today (St. Louis, MO) -- Three St. Louis city parks will start accepting Christmas trees for recycling today. Christmas trees stripped of their decorations will be accepted at Carondelet Park, O'Fallon Park and the lower Muny parking lot at Forest Park. The trees will be ground into mulch that will be available for free. Trees will be accepted through January 18th.
The JoY was George Carlin’s take on sports (He says only three exist.) The Fab4 was every Beatles song in alphabetical order. It was created five days after the assassination of John Lennon. Radio engineer Rob Grayson compiled a montage of every Beatles song in alphabetical order and aired it following a ten-minute period of silence. The version we played has been updated to include material from the Anthology series. The production effort involved is impressive, and done entirely on tape. You can read more about it on the Rob Grayson Collection. Click here.
Finally, the Vault was “She Rides” by Eric Clapton.

Do Anything Stupid,
