Thursday, 12/20 -- Hello & Merry Christmas!

Today's video: (language and subject matter warning!) Click here.

Part of the Marshall Faulk retirement ceremony will be shown on Fox 2 & the NFL Network. It depends on the teevee timing.

My second & third jobs conflict tonight. I will be at Scottrade Center in the afternoon preparing for the Blues game, then over to the Edward Jones Dome for the Rams game.

Here is the hierarchy of the Saint Louis Blues Organ-i-zation:
SCP Worldwide Chairman/Governor – David W. Checketts
Partner/Alternate Governor/Vice Chairman – Michael McCarthy
Partner/Alternate Governor – Kenneth W. Munoz
Executive President of Hockey Operations/Alternate Governor – John Davidson
CEO of St. Louis Blues Enterprises/Alternate Governor – Peter McLoughlin

The other John Davidson (the actor & TV host) was the scheduled headline act at the Beverly Hills Supper Club in Southgate, Kentucky, the night the structure burned down, killing 165 persons, on May 28, 1977.

We saw a lot of movies opening up this holiday season.
-- Laurie saw P.S. I Love You: three outta five Macs.
-- Laurie saw The Kite Runner: three & ½ outta five Macs.
-- Laurie saw The Great Debaters: three & ½ outta five Macs.
-- Laurie saw The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep: three & ½ outta five.
-- JC, Laurie & I saw Juno. It is opening wide at three theaters in Saint Louis! Four & ½ outta five Corks. Four outta five Macs. Four & ½ outta five interns.

About Juno - I really liked it, but why do all these indies have to have quirky music? Don't these kids like popular music? Juno talked about all these bands and then they didn't play any of them.

-- I saw Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story. Three outta five interns.

-- Laurie saw Sweeny Todd: three & ½ outta five Macs.

The Iron Eagle series of movies has four films, not five.

The Yale Book of Quotations’ Top 10 from 2007:
10. "I think as far as the adverse impact on the nation around the world, this administration has been the worst in history." — Former President Jimmy Carter in an interview in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette newspaper.

9. "I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that's a storybook, man." — Biden   describing rival Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.

8. "(I have) a wide stance when going to the bathroom." — Idaho Republican Sen. Larry Craig's explanation of why his foot touched that of an undercover policeman in a men's room.

7. "I'm not going to get into a name-calling match with somebody (Vice President Dick Cheney) who has a 9 % approval rating." — Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, a Democrat.

6. "There's only three things he mentions in a sentence: a noun and a verb and 9/11." — Sen. Joseph Biden, speaking at a Democratic presidential debate, in reference to Republican presidential candidate and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

5. "I don't recall." — Former U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales'   repeated response to questioning at a congressional hearing about the firing of U.S. attorneys.

4. Don Imus’ comments about the Rutgers University women's basketball team: "That's some nappy-headed hos there."

3. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's October comment at Columbia University in New York, "In Iran we don't have homosexuals like in your country."

2. Lauren Upton, the South Carolina contestant in the Miss Teen America contest in August, when asked why one-fifth of Americans can't find the United States on a map:
"I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because some people out there in our nation don't have maps and I believe that our education like such as in South Africa and the Iraq and everywhere like such as and I believe that they should our education over here in the U.S. should help the U.S. or should help South Africa and should help the Iraq and the Asian countries so we will be able to build up our future for us."

1. "Don't tase me, bro," a phrase that swept the nation after a U.S. college student used it seeking to stop campus police from throwing him out of a speech by Sen. John Kerry.

Today’s Christmas Songs: (not) CCR’s “Up Around Bethlehem,” (not) Jethro Tull’s “AquaClaus,” (not) The Who’s “Do You Hear What I Hear,” (not) Black Sabbath’s “Iron Claus, (really) Afroman’s “Because I Got High on Christmas” and (really) Joe Pesci’s “If It Doesn't Snow For Christmas.”

For our 12 Days, Dawn won over $6.7k of stuff for the Ultimate Guys Package by knowing:

  1. Israel is number one in the world for holiday turkey consumption.
  2. The average person eats thirty pieces of candy over the season.

We had Jenna Fischer on for a couple of minutes. She told her Nerinx Hall story. She’s “boobtacular” in Walk Hard.

Tattoos hurt. We don’t understand how one would get one done on their privates.

Here’s the punch line of the joke I was thinking about: “Welcome to Jamaica. Have a nice day.”

JC would have been named Dawn if he was born a girl.

The JoY was a “Gumby Christmas” from Eddie Murphy & Joe Piscopo. The 3fA featured more Christmas Songs (listed above). The Vault was The Royal Guardsmen “Snoopy’s Christmas.” Finally, before Walk Hard John C. Reilly sang in Chicago.

Don't Do Anything Stupid,
