Monday, 12/10 -- Hi. I hope everyone is safe & dry today.

We are in Storm Mode this morning. That means exactly what you, the listener, think it means – nothing.

We think the biggest news story of the last 100 years is either the moon landing or WWII.

The best way to see television reporters in action is to go to the Tamm Avenue overpass during a storm.

Happy Birthday to John’s brother, Jim and my friend Bethio.

Our 12 Days of Christmas started with a Nirvana “Smells Like Christmas Spirit” parody.

What Dan needed to know to get over $2,600 worth of stuff:
1. According to Phillips Electronics, the average American walks five miles while shopping during the holiday season.
2. According to KSDK, Our Lady of the Snows’ Christmas display has over a million lights.

JC is anti-Shemp; John is pro-Shemp.

How to survive an office Christmas party:
Bring money.
Dress appropriately.
Mingle with everybody.
Don’t hit on co-workers.
Watch your language.
Have fun.

Michael Clarke Duncan did bodyguard work for Will Smith, Martin Lawrence, Jamie Foxx, LL Cool J, and The Notorious B.I.G.; he let a friend take over for him the night Notorious B.I.G. got shot, which prompted him to quit that line of work.

Daniel Boone is a British pop musician who became a one-hit wonder in the United States with the single "Beautiful Sunday" in 1972. The song was written by Daniel Boone & Rod McQueen and raked up a million in sales worldwide. It peaked at No. 15 on The Billboard Hot 100 singles chart in the summer of '72, and at No. 21 on the UK Singles Chart earlier that same year.

Watch the man on the left walking, crossing the road. Take nothing for granted, not even for a split second!

Believe it or not the man in the intersection lived! He was saved by the imprint that the PT Cruiser left in the driver's side of the Subaru. When the Subaru went over him it came down on him right where the dent in the car was made and did not crush him, AMAZING!!! Watch it over and you can pick up the dent in the car.

Who’d We See:

JC: Friday – saw Dave at Schnucks, then to the APA to search for another cat he’ll pick up on Wednesday & hanged lights at home.
Saturday – Shopping at Guitar Center and Garden Ridge, then to buy a wine refrigerator. They then came to my house for our party.
Sunday – Cheesecake Factory for brunch, & then to his younger daughter’s song & dance Christmas recital. Watched Juno & then his wife told him to be still and turned off the lights and he thought he was gonna get lucky. Instead he looked out the window and saw a white-barred owl. He scared it away before Triple C could take a photo. The Barred Owl, Strix varia, is a large typical owl. It goes by many other names, including eight hooter, rain owl, wood owl, and striped owl, but is probably known best as the hoot owl.

John: Friday – our sister station’s Blood Drive & then his oldest daughter’s cheerleading & her play.
Saturday – Blood Drive & got a Christmas tree with the family. He thought he would get a 10-foot tree, it was 12. It busted the stand as it fell over.
Sunday – fought with the tree some more. He put some lights & ornaments on it and then it fell over again.

Laurie: Friday – went to see Dave Murray while he was ringing the bell at Schnucks. That night she went to see the Nutcracker at the Fox.
Saturday – she came to my party and mingled with some people she knew.
Sunday - painting the guest bedroom & watched the Rams.

Friday night – prepared for the party with my friend Andrew as we put together a Star Wars Foosball table.
Saturday – Every year Jim Uxa from Plaza Mortgage Group buys out a theater and lets the children from Saint Gabriel’s school see a free holiday movie. So I took my daughter to see Fred Claus. The movie was supposed to be at Kenrick Theater, but they closed it last week. Then my mother came by to pick up my daughter. And then we had a party. Between 90–100 people stopped by and we thank them for doing so. We also want to thank Maria from Pepsi for sponsoring some of the liquids consumed. The last people were driven home by sober spouses at 4:15 am. My wife looked hot in her new boots from Carlos Santana. JC said I was very affectionate late in the evening.
Sunday – My daughter had to be picked up by my wife because she was under the weather. So I showered & represented our family at another party hosted by Rick & Cindy. Then I came home and went to bed.

Captain Carl’s Buried Treasure was a public thank you to Mrs. the Intern for all the hard work she put into our party last weekend.

The JoY was Tommy Tutone’s “Jenny” Christmas Parody. The 3fA featured Buffalo Springfield & Body Worlds tickets. The Vault was “Slip Kid” by the Who from By Numbers. Finally, Tommy Kirk was in Old Yeller.

Don't Do Anything Stupid,
Carl The Intern
