Happy Saint Nicholas Day! I hope you, the listener, found an orange in your stocking.
I woke up Janis Murray this morning as a panicked JC had me call Dave to get him on with us an hour earlier. I apologize to everyone who heard the Schnucks Panic Aisle while driving.
Potosi is now called “Tosi town” or “the home of the toothbrush (as opposed to the teeth-brush.).”
We now have a “Bowflex” guy along with our “menu reader” guy with our regular callers.
Laurie believes that the top people in any profession are a little bit crazy.
Who’s right, Tony LaRussa or Scott Rolen? Or are they both right?
We had the President of your Saint Louis Cardinals, Mark Lamping, on-the-air with us this morning. He touched on the Rolen–La Russa situation. The club won’t do anything, like trade Scott, just because one player (Scott) wants something like that to happen. He just got back from winter meetings in Nashville.
When Mark was getting his name dragged thru the mud when the new Ballpark was being built, it didn’t affect him much, but it kinda upset his family and friends.
His job right now is all about putting $1.8 million into the stadium and working with the Springfield Cardinals. He has parts of his job that he loves and other parts of his job that “is just part of the job.”
Cards box tickets, special area tickets, all-inclusive areas, LaRussa and Pujols packs go on sale this weekend. V.I.P.s, a.k.a. Season Ticket holders, can buy them right now. Click here or call 314.345.9000.
According to Snopes (an urban legend website) Doug Williams was never asked “How long have you been a black quarterback?” But Doug thinks he was asked that.
Christmas songs we played today: “Christmas in Vegas” and “Do You Hear What I Hear / Baba O'Riley” and once again ...
“It is a part of JC’s personal collection and no, we can’t make a copy for you. Maybe you can find it on ‘one of the Internets’ if you look.”
Yesterday, JC spoke for almost an hour with Dan Galvin, the spokesman for MoDot. He was a former Phoenix television anchorman. He’s only here until the I-64/40 project is finished. He said the Clayton-Warson overpass is the reason why the highway couldn’t remain open & that’s the hardest part of the project.
John wondered about the Vandeventer Overpass construction in the late 70s & early 80s. One of you guys called to remind us of the “Vandeventer Detour.”
Journey’s new lead singer was found on “The YouTube.”
Americans believe in everything. An overwhelming majority of Americans believe in God and significant numbers also think that UFOs, the devil and ghosts exist, a new poll shows. The survey by Harris Online showed 82% of adult Americans believed in God and a slightly smaller percentage - 79% - believed in miracles. Click here.

The JoY was a holiday message from Talladega Nights’ Ricky Bobby (Will Farrell). The 3fA featured Fleetwood Mac. The Vault was part of the 3fA – we were way behind today. Finally, Colleen Haskell (from the 1st season of “Survivor”) was in Rob Schneider’s The Animal. And on October 4, 1986, as Dan Rather was walking along Park Avenue in Manhattan to his apartment, he was attacked and punched from behind by a man who demanded to know, "Kenneth, what is the frequency?", while a second assailant also chased and beat him. REM wrote a song about it.
