Hi to all the lovers of the Colorado River Toad!
The bufo alvarius, also known as the Sonoran Desert Toad, is a psychoactive toad found in the Southwestern United States and northern Mexico. The skin and venom of bufo alvarius contain 5-MeO-DMT and bufotenin (that’s what effs people up).
I don’t know why people were saying the Blarrrgs weren’t available on Monday & Tuesday. I found them just fine. Go look. (tee-hee.)
JC thinks we should play up the crime & s.t.d. angle of the city. Someone suggested we should change the city’s slogan to “Die Quick or Die Slow.”
Laurie doesn’t like words that end in “-rhea.”
Missouri Attorney General Jay Nixon is working with other AGs looking into toy recalls. Click here.
We had Post Dispatch columnist Dan O’Neill on with us talking about his new book, Sportsman’s Park: The Players, The Fans & The Game. Some of the old St. Louis Browns players (including Roy Sievers) are expected to turn out tonight (Thursday, November 15th) for a book signing beginning at 7 p.m. at Barnes & Noble in Fenton. On Saturday, he’ll be at the Des Peres B&N at 2pm. And see him Sunday at the Mid Rivers Mall location at 1pm.
Some photos in the book include Satchel Page in a rocker, Willie Mays caught in a rundown and Stan Musial’s speech in a Boy Scout Neckerchief.
Dan says Scott Rolen is goin’ nowhere and that U-Man is his favorite golfer.
He said that Sportsman’s Park hosted more games than any other stadium at the time. (Because two teams played at the park at the same time.)
JC noticed that the athletes back then looked just like regular guys, not the juiced up goons of today.
We had John Brown from Fox 2 on the air talking about the Sammy Hagar flap. (For those that don’t know Hagar, upset some folk by mentioning certain beer companies in both a promising and disparaging light.) John talked to him for about 20 minutes. See the entire interview.
Bernarr Macfadden (16 August 1868, Mill Spring, Missouri – 12 October 1955) was an influential exponent of physical culture, a combination of bodybuilding with nutritional and health theories. He additionally founded the long-running magazine publishing company Macfadden Publications. He created the Mr. Universe Pageant.
From the New York Times: “Roger Ailes and Rudolph W. Giuliani have been pulling for each other for nearly two decades. Mr. Ailes was the media consultant to Mr. Giuliani’s first mayoral campaign in 1989. Mr. Giuliani, as mayor, officiated at Mr. Ailes’s wedding and intervened on his behalf when Mr. Ailes’s company, Fox News Channel, was blocked from securing a cable station in the city. (When this was reported in August) Mr. Giuliani’s on-air time on Fox was 25 percent greater than that of his Republican competitor Mitt Romney, and nearly double that of Senator John McCain of Arizona. Fred D. Thompson, who had yet to formally announce his candidacy, came in second to Mr. Giuliani with 101 minutes of Fox interviews.”
Laurie learned the piano & clarinet until her music teacher ran off with her lover. I was forced to try and learn the recorder. JC played the accordion. John played “the organ.” A new study shows that kids that who learn to play musical instruments are smarter. Also it teaches discipline, relieves stress and gives a sense of achievement.
It should cost approximately $4.09 to feed a person for Thanksgiving.
See Beverly D'Angelo naked in First Love and Vacation (& others too – she likes to be naked on film).

And I know 90% have seen this, but here’s the Texas Tech bell ringer.
For “The Frank Show” Contest you, the listener, had to know Jay Leno. Quit sending me palindromes! I’m not printing any of them. But the JoY was “Bob” by “Weird Al” Yankovic from Poodle Hat - made up entirely of palindromes.
The 3fA was John Mellencamp (in concert tonight at Scottrade Center). The Vault was “Surfer Girl” as performed by Paul Simon from the 2001 Brian Wilson tribute. Finally, in 1994’s The Shawshank Redemption, Morgan Freeman played Ellis Boyd 'Red' Redding.

Do Anything Stupid,
