Hi, I’m not in town today. This is retconned for your pleasure.
Yeah, Rams! Although they did beat up on Katrina victims.
“Amazing Discoveries” & Kevin Trudeau were/are lying to you, the listener.
JC compared Archbishop Burke to the woman in the Dalco Commercial. John said the Cathedral blew its’ chimney. Both Catholics & Jews have crazy members in their flocks (as do all religions).
Vows of Poverty are for certain religious orders. From the wiki: “Poverty is often understood to be an essential element of renunciation in religions such as Buddhism and Jainism, whilst in Roman Catholicism it is one of the evangelical counsels. Certain religious orders also take a vow of poverty. For example, the Franciscan orders have traditionally forgone all individual and corporate forms of ownership. However, while individual ownership of goods and wealth is forbidden for Benedictines, following the Rule of St. Benedict, the monastery itself may possess both goods and money, and through history some monasteries have become very rich indeed.”
When she was little, Laurie’s congregation took up a collection to buy her Reverend a boat.
John’s daughter wanted to know if highway workers are nocturnal – since she only sees them at night.
Games we talked about in the course of 15 minutes: Scrabble, Risk, Diplomacy, Candy Land, Monopoly, Mousetrap, Twister, Clue, Chutes & Ladders, spades (the card game), bridge, poker, rummy, Sudoku, crossword puzzles, softball and video games.
Laurie’s husband doesn’t like activities where someone loses. But she could give seminars on how to be a good wife (all it takes is being topless).
JC thinks I should rely on the Internet less – which is why I do crosswords & sudoku & other mind exercises.
Mount Vernon, MO is around Joplin. Rudy Giuliani will learn that later today.
Be warned! Celine Dion is coming to town in 365 days (next year is a leap year). Make plans to leave town now.
Health news:
- In 2004 7 babies died per 1,000 births in the United States. Overall infant mortality rate in U.S. largely unchanged since the last study. The rates among black women are more than twice that of white women.
- Angry people can harm their health for an entire week per outburst. JC’s blood pressure is 129/80.
- Nursing does not make your boobs sag – getting pregnant makes them sag.
- Laurie says her figure is zaftig (pleasantly plump). But a study of 16,000 women determined those with hourglass figures were more intelligent than their counterparts with round or straight bodies, The Sunday Times of London reported. Curvier women also tended to have more intelligent children, possibly because omega3 fatty acids are stored in their hips, the British newspaper said. Skinny women, or those whose fat deposits are around their waists do not have such deposits. The study, to be published in the journal Evolution and Human Behavior this week, may explain earlier findings that men prefer women with smaller waists than hips even if they are compared to slimmer women, said the study's authors at the University of Pittsburgh and the University of California, Santa Barbara. It may also help break down the stereotype that attractive women are not intelligent, sexual and relationship psychologist Paula Hall told the newspaper.
Speaking of sexy & smart ladies, I’ve been asked to put in more photos & less video, so here’s photos of some exercises we can all do at our desks.

Dan Gray many years ago had a feature on the teevee where Satan (during an exorcism) predicted the Gulf War. A weathercaster at KSDK thinks that angels bring us good weather.
Missouri law: your headlights must be on when your windshield wipers are on. Also handicap tags shouldn’t be hanging from your mirror while driving.
30% of secret Santa presents are tossed right away.
Rap & Country songs in Billboard’s Hot 100 had more sex & drug references in them than Rock songs did in 2005 – although one could argue fewer rock songs were on the pop charts in 2005, so the sample might be skewed.
Dave wouldn't tell us what Janice did for his birthday yesterday. But we think it had something to do with a gardening apron.
Who'd we see?
John: Fri – he had an appearance with Will Witherspoon at an undisclosed location for an undisclosed radio station giving away tickets for an undisclosed party. Then the family had dinner at Espino’s.
Sat – his middle daughter was in a play immediately followed by volleyball. Then he took his youngest to Rockwood Reservation. And the family all went to Bee Movie, (good for them). He wound up the evening seeing Blades of Glory with his oldest.
Sun – His daughter scored all the goals in the championship game & the party was at East Coast Pizza.
JC: spent the weekend in Chicago & got a new teevee for a great price.
Laurie: she had the last three performances of her play. It’s now over. And on her second day off in five months she painted her guest room. Then she saw someone else’s play: Upstream Theater's Return of the Bedbug (which she is in – in video form).
I was outta town with my family. That’s all yer gettin’ from me. (But it was fun!)
With our Frank TV contest people had to guess Adam Sandler or Jeff Goldblum.
Captain Carl’s Buried Treasure was “Happy Veterans Day!” (& I mean that).
The JoY was “Da Turdy Point Buck” by Bananas at Large (Happy Hunting!).
The 3fA featured the Rolling Stones & tickets to see Annie next week at the Fox. The Vault was Donovan’s “Catch the Wind.”
Don't
Do Anything Stupid,
Carl The Intern
