Monday, 11/5 --
Hi. We are all here, staring at JC’s pretty new ring. “Triple C” done good.
When the Corcoran's received their wedding video, it seems that the Jamaican videographers didn’t understand their music requests. Instead of no country, it was nothing but country (Faith Hill-ish crap). When they complained and wanted “70s music,” the Jamaicans changed it to the Bee Gees. Ooops.
You, the listener, are 300% more likely to be killed now that it has changed back from Daylight Saving Time.
Kathleen Madigan called us to talk about her sold-out show on Thursday night. She talked about her friends who are going on strike this morning. She is going to stay single until she stops touring or until she finds an airline pilot. She’s been to every state but Maine. Her website is kathleenmadigan.com..Laurie likes the “Ask Kathleen” pages.
JC heard that just to turn on the lights at Busch Stadium costs $10k.
While talking about growing old, JC lost his train of thought. (Irony!)
We talked about the lack of customer service at gas stations. And the annoying people on cell phones (postal workers & gas station attendants).
Six signs a co-worker is lying: Nose touching, trouble speaking, body language vs. words, neck rubbing, eye rubbing & upward speech inflections.
Some people go to New York just to jump off the buildings (& commit suicide).
Bindi Irwin’s name came from her favorite female crocodile at the Australia Zoo; in addition, Bindi is an Australian Aboriginal word that means” little girl.” We will have her mother, Terri, on the air with us tomorrow.
Who’d We See?
Me: I saw Bob Costas at the premiere of American Gangster. Saturday, I had a hockey game, saw Aleda, Jeffio & Bethio, Chris Moloney from Scottrade, and closed down 14th & Clark. On Sunday my daughter & I had a pajama day.
Laurie: Performances of I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change. This week is her last weekend so go see it or it’s your own fault. These people went, you should too! Mo & Ian, Tammy, Lance & JC’s mother-in-law.
John: Friday – his kids’ sports. Saturday – he fixed a faucet & went to a surprise birthday party for Missy & Mike Hampton. He was not consuming fast enough for his friends, so they made him drink outta a baby bottle. Sunday – family obligations.
JC: He got married. (Really? I hadn’t heard.) And when they came back they wanted American food & ate at Dewey’s. Saturday – hung out with his girls, looked for a new kitty & saw Bee Movie. Sunday – watched the tele (Joni Mitchell with Russ Mitchell on “CBS Sunday Morning”) & played softball with the Missouri Restaurant Association. For the first time in forever, JC’s media team lost. In fact, he made the last out. (Now he has to live with that until next season).
Speaking of Jerry, he’s overexposed, but here he is from a simpler time – his first “Tonight Show” appearance. I still miss Johnny.
John doesn’t think that a cell phone lot at the airport is a good idea, even though the rest of us do. I understand his point about wasteful government spending, but this isn’t it.
Captain Carl’s Buried Treasure was “Daylight Saving Time.” Not “Savings,” JC. The JoY was Harry Hill’s “Rich Widow” joke. The 3fA featured Jimmy Buffett. The Vault was “Gold” by John Stewart. Finally, Art Garfunkel was in Carnal Knowledge (1971) & Catch-22 (1970) amongst others (see the rest here).
Don't
Do Anything Stupid,
Carl The Intern
