Hi, everyone! How was Halloween? My Grandmother wanted me to let all good Catholics (& especially all bad Catholics) know that today is All Saints Day – a holy day of obligation. Ahhh, remember those?
So, last night while handing out candy I might have insulted some high school girls. They had great costumes. They padded themselves up and were “ex-beauty queens.” One of them told their joke and I said “that was cute.” The next one told her joke and I laughed. The first girl said, “You didn’t laugh at my joke.” I tried to defend myself, but said that the second girls’ joke was funny and that hers was cute. Then the third girl said, “You’re being kind of a jerk.” To which I replied: “You. Are. In. High School. And you are trick-or-treating. You can’t be too judgmental.” That might have proven her point, but it was still funny to me.
