Wednesday, 10/31 -- Happy Halloween, everyone! Trick or treat?

How come in “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” (on ABC last night) Sally Brown says “Tricks or Treats?” I don’t know why, but I’ve always noticed that – and now you, the listener, will, too.

7.4 million pets are dressing up tonight. Please don’t, unless it’s this:

Beware of sex offenders in your area. In Illinois, it’s against the law for them to engage in Halloween activities (although not in Missouri). In Missouri search and arm yourself with knowledge here:

Laurie saw The Drowsy Chaperone at the Fox last night featuring Georgia Engel (Georgette on “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” and Robert’s Mother-in-Law, Pat, on “Everybody Loves Raymond”). She enjoyed it and told us about the special $25 Orchestra seats – learn more here.

Today’s “Best of the Showgram” bits:
John’s Embarrassing Public Address Story (from August),
Surfin’ Bird Recording Session (March),
“Saturday Night Live” Anthem Spoof Bit (October 2006),
U-Man’s Four Brushes With Greatness (June),
Florida Postcard From Carl (June),
Fireworks Stories (July),
REO at WalMart (March),
JC’s Arizona Vacation Wrap (June),
.... and lots of Halloween stuff.

At the hockey game last night I “got” to play Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” and people actually did the dance from the video. Maybe they watched this:

Forbes says Memphis is the laziest city (they call it the “Most Sedentary Cities” though). Saint Louis was not in the top 20! The rest of the list:
2) New Orleans
3) Las Vegas
4) Detroit
5) Birmingham
6) Louisville
7) San Antonio
8) Jacksonville
9) Nashville
10) Miami
11) Houston
12) Tampa
13) San Diego
14) Pittsburgh
15) Oklahoma City
16) Indianapolis
17) Atlanta
18) Richmond
19) Cleveland
20) Philadelphia

I leave you with something terrifying! (He’s not here, I’m filling up space!)

The JoY was the over-exposed Jerry Seinfeld on Halloween. The Fab4 was a Fab6 and had a Halloween theme: “Devil in Her Heart,” “Mr. Moonlight,” “I’m Looking Through You,” “Baby’s in Black,” “I am the Walrus” & “Savoy Truffle.” Finally, the Vault was Donovan’s “Season of the Witch.”

Don't Do Anything Stupid,
Carl The Intern
