Thursday, 9/27 -- Moo to you! Watch out for the vigilante cows.

As far as we are aware, Staples and Pep Boys do not have stores in the Metropolitan Saint Louis area.

JC & Jennifer Joyce went out on a date in the past to a Sting concert. But “Double JC” lost out to “Triple C” (and that big day is now 32 days away).

Oscar McElwie was JC’s teevee repairman. Those kinda jobs don’t really exist anymore. The repairman would bring mirrors so they could see the front of the screen while they were behind the set.

Laurie remembers a Fuller Brush guy coming to the house.

The piece of advice that Jim Woodcock gave me when my daughter was born was: spend the last night before they come home from the hospital alone and enjoy the silence.

El Kabong was Quick Draw McGraw’s alter ego. We gave away a trip to Mexico for knowing that. Depending on the time of your visit here to the website, maybe you, the listener, can still take advantage of our Funjet deal.

IKEA is a privately-held, international home products retailer that sells low-price products, including furniture, accessories, bathrooms and kitchens at retail stores around the world. It became famous for the fact that the customer has to assemble many of the products. JC bought a bed for his daughter at the Chicago store while he was up north. I don’t want to get into the entire IKEA discussion, but part of it had to do with this:

Güiro is pronounced whee-row and is a percussion instrument consisting of an open-ended, hollow gourd with parallel notches cut in one side. It is played by rubbing a wooden stick along the notches to produce a ratchet-like sound. The güiro is commonly used in Latin-American music, and plays a key role in the typical cumbia rhythm section.

The definition of a first-person shooter is a video game that renders the game world from the visual perspective of the player character and tests the player's skill in aiming guns or other projectile weapons. A third-person shooter is a genre of 3D computer and video games in which the player character is seen at a distance from a number of different possible perspective angles, as opposed to the first-person model in which the player views everything in the game world as if through their own eyes. The new Halo 3 game is a first-person shooter. I tired to explain this to Old Man Corcoran but it was time for the Early Bird Buffet (& his thumbs are too arthritic to play video games).

I don’t believe that dollar totals should be counted in “all time” lists. It should be units sold. Titanic is not the number one movie of all time, it’s actually Gone with the Wind. (Although Star Wars is number two on both lists.)

We had day four of our NBC’s “My Name is Earl”/“The Office” contests. Our daily prizes: The Office Season 3 DVD; The Office Dunder Mifflin Snow Globe; BBQ Grill Set packed with an Earl Apron and 7 piece tool set; My Name is Earl Trucker Hat; Karma Keychain Bottle-Opener; NBC Koozie 6-Pack. The Grand Prize is a Hewlett-Packard Pavilion Notebook with AMD Turion 64x2 Mobile Technology TL-64 and customized NBC Comedy Night Done Right case. Watch those shows Thursday night and try to win.

Today JC told us about the old radio wars between John & JC and Mike Bush’s “Sports in My Shorts.” Mike Bush had his “Hot Dog Zone.” And they did a live broadcast, but he was late because he got pulled over for speeding. The Chesterfield police let him go on the condition of him playing the Bill Murray/Christopher Guest “Bass Player.”

The Mike Bush’s Hot Dog Zone is now a Silky Freeze.

We are giving away four packs of tickets to The Rat Pack (opening next week at the Fox) in addition to a gift certificate to Cutter’s & Company in the Chase and a copy of the London West End soundtrack by asking Vegas trivia. Today we talked about Elisabeth Shue and Nicholas Cage in Leaving Las Vegas.

From Saturday Night Live here’s Candice Bergen talking to Dan Aykroyd: “We'd like to show you another one of Mr. Mainway's products. It retails for $1.98, and it's called Bag O' Glass. [Holds up bag of glass] Mr. Mainway, this is simply a bag of jagged, dangerous, glass bits … So, you don't feel that this product is dangerous?”

Dan as Irwin Mainway replies, “No! Look, we put a label on every bag that says, "Kid! Be careful - broken glass!" I mean, we sell a lot of products in the "Bag O'" line. Like Bag O' Glass, Bag O' Nails, Bag O' Bugs, Bag O' Vipers, Bag O' Sulfuric Acid. They're decent toys, you know what I mean?”

They also did this routine again for Halloween costumes with Jane Curtin as Joan Face and Dan as Irwin Mainway.

Since the 1950s, 155 people with the middle name of “Wayne” are killers. News of the Weird’s Chuck Shepherd suspects “aggressive-personality fathers during the 1950s and 1960s did in fact hopefully and disproportionately name their boys after that era's icon of ruggedness, John Wayne.” Learn more here www.newsoftheweird.com/wayne.html.

The JoY was Maya Rudolph “singing” the National Anthem at the 2006 World Series. The 3fA featured Rock n’ CholesteRoll artist, America. The Vault was “I Know There’s Something Going On” by Frida. Finally, “Twist & Shout” became famous again because of Ferris Bueller's Day Off & Back to School.
