Monday, 9/24 -- Hi & Happy Birthday to a Mr. JC Corcoran, who’s getting married in 35 days. He’s broadcasting from Chicago while also taking care of some family business.

JC believes that the “story behind the story” of the Centene Corporation moving downtown from Clayton is that the Ballpark Village won’t start construction until spring.

John left us early today to play golf with Alice Cooper. He told us about the other two times he played golf with Alice: one time ended with a car accident and the other had them searching in a rickety old house for John’s ball.

This got us talking about palimony. In the late 1970s three famous palimony cases were in the news. Lee Marvin & Michelle Triola Marvin, Peter Frampton & Penny McCall and … from: Cindy Laing - click here.

"Sometimes there's a little confusion about Alice's marital history. He had a long time girlfriend in the late '60s and early '70s named Cindy Laing - but they were never married. She did, however, sue him for palimony (not alimony) when they broke up in '75. (The case was settled out of court in the early '80s.) Cindy got quite a bit of media attention at the time of the suit ('60 Minutes', 'Phil Donahue', etc). Hey, by the way. I believe that although the Lee Marvin alimony case was the FAMOUS one and actually went to court -- as far as I know, Alice Cooper was the FIRST person ever to be served with a [p]alimony suit. (No joke.) … Cindy was originally suing AC for around $5 million. It was settled out of court for an UNDISCLOSED amount of money in 1981. It was much less as most out of court settlements are. (Renfield, June 1995)”

Birthday boy told me to type in a “Capitol Zero” today.

We had 16 cases of Busch & Busch Light delivered to us on Friday. We shared the wealth with our co-workers.

We had day one of our NBC’s “The Office” / “My Name is Earl” contest. I told the truthful story of my first day of work 17 years (& two weeks) ago. Our daily prizes: The Office Season 3 DVD; The Office Dunder Mifflin Snow Globe; BBQ Grill Set packed with an Earl Apron and 7 piece tool set; My Name is Earl Trucker Hat; Karma Keychain Bottle-Opener; NBC Koozie 6-Pack. The Grand Prize is a Hewlett-Packard Pavilion Notebook with AMD Turion 64x2 Mobile Technology TL-64 and customized NBC Comedy Night Done Right case. Watch those shows Thursday night and try to win.

Speaking of Earl, we talked to Jason Lee. He was upset that Almost Famous had to end; it was such a joy for him.

Who’d we see:
JC got a new “pre-owned” Lexus for the lovely “Triple C.” Saturday he went to his daughter’s “Rock School.” Then they had a surprise wedding shower for “Triple C.” They received a waffle maker & a CrockPot (among other gifts). Sunday after a Brio brunch he drove up to Chicago to see his dad. And he is still in Chi-town.

Laurie: Did her play and had her husband’s family in town for the weekend. She was happy that people sat on their new couch.

Me: Friday – I tried to calm my wife down after she was supposedly shot at while a window was destroyed at her Daughters of the American Revolution meeting. Then Saturday – I went to Columbus to see Genesis. I enjoyed the show very much; I just questioned their song choices. And Phil Collins looks like a grandpa with as many necks as chins. They did at least one song from every Phil Collins’ era album from Selling England by the Pound through We Can’t Dance, except Abacab. “Hello” to Mark & Jim Starr with whom I hung out with after the show. Then I came home to hang out with my girls before they leave town for a few days to take care of some family business.

We are giving away four packs of tickets to The Rat Pack (opening next week at the Fox) in addition to a gift certificate to Cutter’s & Company in the Chase and a copy of the soundtrack by asking Vegas trivia. Today the funny Nicholas Cage film was Honeymoon in Vegas (not Leaving Las Vegas, although I found it hilarious).

We learned that JC used to do radio sports play-by-play and our boss wants to hear it.

And now a moment of silence for Marcel Marceau.

Also, Dave’s dog, Stars, passed on over the weekend. We hope for the best for the Murray family.

On a happier note our friend Jen Sparks is starting next month doing weekends up the dial at KYKY 98.1!

Almost 20% of vehicles are silver colored (it hides dirt). The rest of the list: White 16%, Gray 13%, Black 13%, Blue 11 %, Red 11%, Light Brown 7%, Green 4%, White/Pearl 3%, Yellow/Gold 3%.

The JoY was George Carlin’s routine on sports. The 3fA was Penny McCall’s ex-boyfriend, Peter Frampton (in concert at the Pageant next Sunday). The Vault was Jim Croce’s “Rapid Roy (The Stock Car Boy).” Finally, from “The Love Boat” (which premiered today in 1977; Lauren Tewes’ last name is pronounced "Tweeze".
