96.3 HD-3 “Smooth & Sexy” is not your traditional “Smooth” Jazz station. We are something new…something fresh…something better than you’ve ever experienced! We are the next step in the evolution of Jazz.
Serving the Greater St. Louis Area, 96.3 HD-3 “Smooth & Sexy” is an eclectic blend of “Smooth” Jazz, “Straight-Ahead” Jazz, “Acid” Jazz, “Downbeat” Electronic Music and World Music, along with a few rare gems sprinkled throughout.
We are here to fill the gaping hole that was left when 106.5 Smooth Jazz went off the air in 2005. It is our hope, that with the addition of 96.3 HD-3 “Smooth & Sexy,” we will not only provide a sense of familiarity with artists like Boney James, George Benson and David Benoit, but we will also instill a sense of spice with tunes from the likes of Labi Siffre, Everything But The Girl, Deodato and Thelonious Monk.
96.3 HD-3 “Smooth & Sexy” is owned by Emmis Communications and programmed by long-time Jazz enthusiast, Jason Church. Church has been a part of the local Jazz scene for a little over ten years. Starting out as Music Director for 89.1 The Connection (KCLC) when he attended college at Lindenwood University, he developed a love and a passion for what was to become his favorite music. He also joined ranks with 106.5 Smooth Jazz (WSSM) upon its’ inception in 2001 and worked there until its’ demise in 2005. Now, Church is picking the music that you want to hear on 96.3 HD-3 “Smooth & Sexy.”
96.3 HD-3 Specialty Programming:
The Groove Suite: (Fridays 9pm – Saturdays 2am) An upbeat, eclectic blend of Jazz, R&B and Soul music that is sure to get your Friday nights popping! (ex: Jamiroquai, Incognito, Down To The Bone, The Brand New Heavies, Sam Sparrow)

The Velvet Lounge: (Sundays 1am – 4am) When your Saturday night vibe is winding down, tune into 96.3 HD-3 and chill out with a blend of music that will ease you to the end of the night. (ex: Thievery Corporation, Moby, Air, Tosca, Samantha James)
Sunday Morning Tranquility: (Sundays 8am – 10am) Join 96.3 HD-3 for a relaxing, reflective mix of music just perfect for easing your way into Sunday. (ex: Eva Cassidy, Dancing Fantasy, William Aura, Secret Garden, Nick Drake)
